WE ARE NO LONGER GREEN...

 In more ways then one.  Our last trip was our longest away from home --2 whole weeks- seriously it takes me that long to unwind and relax.  I came home with a different outlook , attitude and goals in mind.  Our adventure started with a 4 days stay at ISLAND RESORT CAMPGROUND, MD-- islandresort.org/ 

with my BIL and SIL who are from MD .  We had an awesome time.  Ate dinner at the Captains Galley in OC
www.captainsgalley2.com/  awesome meal , a bit pricy but it' s a seafood place and they usually are.  Worth the trip.  I liked the Island resort camp ground  has a nice lake in to boat and fish ( no swimming allowed) although there is a beach you can sun on, a playground, nice rental cabins, ok space with sites I didn't feel closed in.  There is a nice general store ( camp store) which was not opened to us since we were camping end of season in Nov. There are very few trees on the back sites and it can get very very windy being you are located smack in the middle of  OC, MD  ococean.com/  and Assateague island, MD  
www.assateagueisland.com/  Ocean city and Assateague Island wildlife refuge are approx. 30 mins drive in either direction from the campground .  I would definately rate this site AGAIN.  Would be nice to go back in the spring/ summer months when more was open.  When I said we are NO LONGER GREEN...I meant it. By the time we came back from this trip there were no leaves on the trees in NJ ....it feels like winter. Woke up yesterday to 18 degrees. ***IMPORTANT PET TRAVEL TIP:  when you go to Asseteague Island, STAY ON THE BOARDS TO THE BEACH...our poor dog stepped off to sniff and un beknown to us she had gotten painful burrs stuck in all 4 feet.  Luckily hubby has a pocket knife with tweezer and we were able to pull them out. Pool Bears!
